„SPIEL.LOKAL“ WITH ASMODEE
Discovering New Releases at the Game Store
Autumn is traditionally the season for new games – one potential hit after another is presented at SPIEL, the
worldʼs largest game fair. But publisher Asmodee also thinks of everyone who cannot come to Essen themselves, bringing exclusive new releases from its
program to game retailers at the same time.
Last year, when SPIEL was held only digitally, retailers could already order new Asmodee games to their stores
simultaneously. This year, too, the „SPIEL.lokal“ cam- paign invites customers to try out around ten of the most exciting new arrivals there in person, supported by expert staff.
The icing on the cake will once again be exclusive promo items, such as three additional cards for the new worker
placement game DWERGAR by Jan Madejski: With cleverly placed workers, dwarf clans expand their subterranean kingdoms, mine raw materials
and use them to realize various projects in
order to earn victory points and bonuses. DWERGAR stands out from other rep- resentatives of the genre due to its special placement mechanism and
high-quality materials, including a mov- able elevator.
Fans of Peer Sylvesterʼs POLYNESIA can
look forward to a game mat on which they
can start playing right away. Who will get their tribe members
to safety in time before the volcano erupts? This involves finding new sea routes to unknown islands in order to collect resources; these can in turn be exchanged with other tribes for useful knowledge.
ANKH — GODS OF EGYPT
DWERGAR
A real highlight in the Asmodee range is Eric M. Lang’s ANKH — GODS OF EGYPT, pub- lished as an exclusive “SPIEL.lokal” release. In ancient Egypt, deities fight for the favor
of the population, summoning monsters and converting followers. Mythical guardians can join a side in the conflict. The regions of Egypt are divided by camel caravans, and two gods can even merge into a single deity. With its richly detailed miniatures, ANKH brings a whole new game world to life. (th)
