Kniziaʼs latest work, MILLE FIORI,
players set out to build a successful
glass dynasty in the culture of the Nobili
and Populi, using clever tactics. On the
detailed game board they secure raw
materials with their glass tokens, trade
with manufactured glassware and
make their products ready for transport.
The goal of MILLE FIORI is to skilfully
score the most varied points on the cityʼs squares and to earn the most trading the valuable commodity.
The BREAK IN series features its namesake activity instead of break-outs, successfully brushing the ״escape“ concept against the grain. In BREAK IN: CHICHÉN ITZÁ, designer David Jakos traces the secrets of the ancient Maya: the legendary city is the setting for a plot revolving around the notorious pyramid of Kukulcán. Leg- end has it that the Jaguar Throne is hidden there, reveal- ing the story of two gods. Two to six explorers enter the ancient ruin, a three-dimensional pyramid in the middle of the hexagonal box. Together, they work their way into the temple core level by level. Until they arrive at the throne, however, they must solve various puzzles and overcome challenges. Like the first two BREAK IN games, the third adventure scores with several physical levels of discov-
ery and the closer one gets to the core of the box, new surprise effects, including shadow games with an included LED lamp. (th)
