A challenging optimization, which is, however, slowed down by a lot of rule details in a confusing manual. This also makes it too long. The topic seems very arbitrary.

Planta Nubo is certainly an engag- ing and heavy game—whether it is truly complex, in a negative way, is more of a debate. On a player’s turn, the simple ac- tion of placing a tool and taking one or two actions will lead to other things hap- pening: typically, the die moves around your board, a couple of cards receive new counters, and that’s it. However, the turn doesn’t end there. At the end of each turn, players will usually trigger one of their cards, which leads to another effect, and so on, so each player’s turn can become quite long and beginners may struggle
to ensure they didn’t for- get anything. These days, actions that give other actions is not new in games and is often fun, but other players must be patient. It adds to the feeling of multi-player solitaire. There is some interaction in the grid and in the selling of flowers to airships, but there is not much you can do to prevent from being blocked, except to re-think your turn when it comes around. The other issue that some may have with the game is its length: a four-player game
may take three hours to complete.
The strategies in this game are numer- ous. No game will be the same as the cards you can buy from the main board will alter each time, and making the best engine from your cards is the main fun of the game. There are many possible ways to create your engine, but the puz- zle aspect of the flowerbeds is also good. Planta Nubo is not for everyone, but I
will enjoy it for some time to come.
