stickerstomarkourprogress on two tracks in the rule book. Each game, no mat- ter how it ends, gets you a
sticker.Ifwewereableto fulfill missions, we even get two or three. Sooner
or later, we will reach cer-
tain spots on the track and get to
open one of the envelopes. And here we find: new event cards, new material, new rules.
The zombies mutate and de- velop annoying resistance. But us heroes also get smarter and
more powerful.
Zombie Teenz Evolution soon
is no longer as
simple as it seemed at first.
The more that detailed rules are added, the easier it is to miss something. Some missions now take
several attempts. Zombie sceptics might
say that despite everything the events never reach any game play depth. And that’s true. You try to push the zombies back far enough to gain some space so you can tackle the game goal. Or you gamble and leave the zombies be. Even though they could overrun a building
on their next turn, you just hope they
won’t.
But it is not about
great strategy. It’s about zombies. If a game lures you back
to the table for one or two in between missions, it has fulfilled its goal. Zombie Teenz Evo- lution wins you over with its charm. The graphics let you identify with the characters. The zombies are almost cute and the rule book con- tinues our story with the help of comic strip stickers with funny sayings. And in the end, the good old Kinder Surprise Egg trick works: it doesn’t even matter what it is that you find in the hidden compartment. The important part is, you get to open it and be surprised. And afterwards you can say:
the second wave surprised us. (dm)

Great team challenge in campaign form. The fascination of Legacy games is conveyed without a heavy rule burden.

Many envelopes and even more stickers characterize this game.
That alone will fascinate some. The individual games are very short. They start out simple and with time become more complex – but does that mean they also become better? Zombie Teenz Evolution is a beautiful campaign which, unfortunately, can also contain dry spells for individual players.
